What could the Internet become in the future?
In the world, it seems, there is not a single corner left without an Internet connection. He is in the jungle of the Amazon, in Antarctica, in the deserts of Africa … In a word, wherever providers with their equipment could get. And where you couldn’t, there you can enter the Network via satellites.
A variety of ways to connect to the Internet, a huge number of files in it create the illusion that, they say, the peak has been reached in technical progress, there’s nothing to strive for. This is approximately the same as climbing to Jomolungma (Everest), climbers begin to dream of flying to Mars, where there is an even higher mountain of the solar system – Olympus, with a height from the foot of more than 20 kilometers. But everything is relative. There was a time when a 1-megabyte file downloaded on the computer for a good half an hour due to low speed. Now a 100-megabyte file is downloaded in minutes.
Speed limit? Not at all! New quantum computers being developed will allow increasing the speed of information processing by several orders of magnitude. Of course, at the same time, Internet technologies will radically change. What will the Internet be like? What do experts and science fiction writers say on this subject? Every morning, a summary of health status and preventive measures will minimize hospital treatment. Photo: pixabay.com Suppose you woke up in the morning. The first thing you hear: your personal electronic doctor will read to you, while you brush your teeth, a message about how you rested and what you should pay special attention to on a daily basis.
Of course. There is no need for malfunctions in the body to go to the clinic. You will not need pills and medicines, as a personal electronic doctor will notice any (even the smallest) deviation in health and will warn you, issue exact instructions. In this case, the emphasis will be placed on prevention. Next you sat down to have breakfast. And the Internet turned on again. Your personal electronic cook tells you how and what you have with food, what points you need to pay attention to. Moreover, he will make the menu the next day, given these points.
Conveniently? Of course! What about work? Turns out you don’t have to look for work. Your electronic job consultant will find it for you. It will contain all the information about your education, skills and places of your previous work. Based on these data, the consultant will independently negotiate with your employers about your device and will “promote” you in the service. In your personal life, you will have your own virtual “room” on the Web with an electronic secretary who will arrange for you to create a family with the most suitable person in all respects.
Interesting? Of course. But here we begin to think. So what can happen in the future, where will the development of technology lead? Will some program collect any information about me, take care of it, recommending this and that? Would it not turn out that this program will know more about me than I know about myself? What if all the information becomes available to those who wish to use it to the detriment of me? There is something puzzled to scratch the back of your head and think about data protection. The program will know more about a person than he knows about himself.
In addition, already now in crime there has been a roll towards electronic crime. What does this threaten? And the fact that any person in the future may turn out to be a beggar if he does not save any financial data about himself. It is assumed that in the future such concepts as a computer, monitor, Internet access will disappear. A microchip will appear that will replace all current Internet gadgets. To enter the Network, it is enough to just think about it, close your eyes – and something like a hologram will be a projection in the brain. All actions can be performed on a mental level. Fantasy? Yes, while fantastic. But microchips already exist (though for other purposes) and microchipping is carried out. As you can see, the future of the Internet can not only make us happy, but it can also greatly upset. What will really be?
